Personal loans, comparedUS personal loans compared on APR range, origination fees, loan amounts, terms and funding speed. Every figure is read on the lender's own page and dated.
Independent research. Every number is checked against the provider's own page and dated. Some links may earn us a commission, which never changes a ranking. How we make money
14 personal loans compared; 14 of 14 in the main list were re-read in the last 14 days (newest read Oct 14, 2026). Ranking rule: We sort by each lender's lowest published APR, then its lower ceiling, using numbers read on the lender's own page and dated. The floor is only what the best-qualified borrowers get, so the order is a starting point, not a verdict: read the ceiling, the origination fee and who is eligible before you choose. We show no star rating of our own, and providers cannot pay to change the order. How we rate
Each pick wins a specific rule, written on its label, and is chosen from the numbers on its own page. They are listed in the order of our ranking, and who pays us has no say in it.

States no origination fee. Loans of $3,000-$100,000.
3 others we list also qualify; this one ranks first in our order.
Twelve lenders are ranked on this page as of October 14, 2026, and their published APR floors run from 5.96% (LendingClub, now Happen Bank) to 11.99% (OneMain). The ceilings tell the other half of the story: Citi tops out at 18.49%, while eight of the twelve reach 35.49% or 35.99%. Only four, Citi, Discover, LightStream and Wells Fargo, state that they charge no origination fee, and the rest take up to 12% out of your proceeds before the money arrives. So the headline rate is the least useful number here. Read the ceiling, the fee and who is allowed to apply.

A personal loan is a price you only learn after you apply, so the job is to narrow the field before you let anyone pull your credit. These five checks do that.
APR folds the origination fee into the price, and the fee is deducted from the money you receive. Upgrade's own example is a $10,000 loan with a 5% fee that pays out $9,500. Prosper's is a 17.29% interest rate plus an 8.99% fee that becomes a 24.19% APR. A lender that quotes only the interest rate is quoting the cheaper-looking half.
Each lender's lowest APR goes to its best-qualified borrowers. Prosper says the average APR on its 3-year loans funded from January 1 to March 31, 2026 was 24.19%, against an 8.99% floor. SoFi's own example uses 15.89%, the average APR on its funded 7-year loans from March 2025 to March 2026, against a 6.99% floor. If your credit is fair, plan around the top half of every range.
Borrowing $10,000 over 36 months costs about $1,614 in interest and fees at a 9.99% APR, $2,655 at 15.99%, $4,312 at 24.99% and $6,487 at 35.99%. That is a $4,873 spread on the same loan, which is why a few points of APR matter more than any perk. Every lender's own pair of figures is on the personal loan rates page.
Wells Fargo lends only to customers of at least 12 months. Citi allows no co-applicants and reserves loans above $30,000 for its own customers. Discover requires $25,000 of annual income and allows no co-borrower. Best Egg does not lend in Iowa, Nebraska, Vermont, West Virginia or Washington, D.C. Prosper states a 640 minimum score and Achieve a 560. Rule yourself out first, so you do not collect hard inquiries for nothing.
Ten of the twelve lenders here say checking your rate does not affect your credit score; LightStream says its application pulls a hard inquiry, and LendingClub describes no soft-pull check. Get quotes from several lenders on the same amount and term, compare them by APR and fee, and only then submit a full application. If the new loan merely stretches card debt over a longer term, the lower rate can still cost you more in total interest.
Products that do one thing unusually well, with the catch we would want to know before applying.
An 18.49% top APR and no fees whatsoever beat everything else here at the expensive end. The 10.24% floor needs excellent credit, there are no co-applicants, and loans above $30,000 are for existing Citi customers.
Read the reviewFunds can reach a debit card as fast as 1 hour after closing, and a vehicle lien allows larger amounts. The price is an 11.99% floor, state-dependent fees and APRs that run higher when the loan is unsecured.
Read the reviewApproval by 4:30 p.m. Central generally means ACH delivery the next business day. The administration fee can reach 9.99%, which on Avant's own example lifts the APR to 29.95%.
Read the reviewWe sort by each lender's lowest published APR, then its lower ceiling, using numbers read on the lender's own page and dated. There is no single best personal loan: the right one depends on your credit, the amount and what you can afford. By the one number every lender publishes, LendingClub (now Happen Bank) has the lowest APR floor at 5.96% among the 14 personal loans we cover, and this list is in that order. The floor is only what the best-qualified borrowers get, so compare the top of the range, the origination fee and who is eligible before you pick. Next on the list: Reach Financial Personal Loan, Achieve Personal Loans and Wells Fargo Personal Loan.
The three lowest published APR floors are: 1) LendingClub (now Happen Bank) (5.96%-35.99% APR). 2) Reach Financial Personal Loan (5.99%-35.99% APR). 3) Achieve Personal Loans (6.25%-35.99% APR).
4 of the 14 lenders on this page state that they charge no origination fee: Wells Fargo Personal Loan, Discover Personal Loans, LightStream Personal Loan and Citi Personal Loan. The rest charge one on some or all of their loans, taken out of your loan proceeds and already inside the APR (a few state a range that starts at 0%). Check each lender's page for the fee range before you accept an offer.
Start with how much you need and for how long, then compare lenders on APR, not on the advertised rate: the APR includes the origination fee. Look at the top of each range as well as the bottom, because the ceiling is what a weaker credit profile sees. Then check eligibility, whether a rate check is a soft pull, and how fast the money arrives.
Most lenders publish no minimum score. The ones that do: Achieve Personal Loans states 560 (660 for loans of $35,000 or more); Prosper Personal Loan states 640 (under 600 you might not qualify). Meeting a published minimum does not guarantee approval, and a lender that publishes none still decides on your credit history, income and debts. A rate check on most of these lenders does not affect your credit score; a full application does.
