Checking Account Bonuses in 2026: Verified Offers and End Dates
Four bank bonuses hold up on the banks' own pages as of October 10, 2026. Each one lists a deposit rule, a payout window and an end date in late 2026.
Four checking and savings bonuses hold up on the banks' own pages as of October 10, 2026. SoFi pays $50 to $400 for direct deposits, with the promotion ending December 31, 2026. TD pays up to $300 on checking and $200 on Signature Savings, with every offer ending November 30, 2026. Seven of the 12 products we read showed no bonus amount at all, so treat a checking bonus as a dated, deposit-driven deal, not a default.
FinanceRadar data: of the 12 checking and savings products we read on each provider's own page on October 10, 2026, 4 carry a cash bonus with its deposit rule and end date, 1 advertises $175 without defining what qualifies, and 7 show no bonus amount. We counted by hand, not from a database, and the table below uses only the four offers we could confirm.
The four offers we could confirm
| Offer | Bonus | What you must deposit | Window | Offer ends |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SoFi Checking and Savings | $50 or $400, by tier | $1,000 to $4,999.99 ($50) or $5,000 or more ($400) in eligible direct deposits | 25 days from your first deposit | December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET |
| TD Beyond Checking | $300 | $2,500 in qualifying direct deposits | Within 60 days; paid within 180 days of opening | November 30, 2026 |
| TD Complete Checking | $200 | $500 in qualifying direct deposits | Within 60 days; paid within 180 days of opening | November 30, 2026 |
| TD Signature Savings | $200 | $10,000 deposited in the first 20 days, then the same balance held for 90 more days | Balance held until about day 110; paid within 180 days | November 30, 2026 |
Every figure in the table comes from the bank's own page, read on October 10, 2026.
SoFi pays the most, but only for the right kind of deposit
SoFi's banking page sets a tiered bonus, not a flat one. Eligible deposits under $1,000 earn nothing, $1,000 to $4,999.99 earns $50, and the top tier earns $400. The top tier works out to 8 cents for every dollar you route through the account in 25 days, a return that makes sense only if your paycheck already lands there. Our SoFi Checking and Savings profile covers the account itself.
The clock starts when SoFi receives your first eligible deposit of $1 or more. SoFi then adds up what arrives over the next 25 calendar days, and that total sets the tier. Your first deposit must reach SoFi by December 31, 2026, and the promotion runs from May 15, 2026 through 11:59 PM ET on that date. SoFi says it pays the bonus into your SoFi Checking account within 7 business days after you finish the requirements.
Eligible means a recurring ACH deposit of regular income: payroll, a pension, or government benefits such as Social Security, sent by an employer, a payroll provider or an agency. SoFi lists what does not count: check deposits, peer-to-peer transfers from Zelle, PayPal, Venmo or Wise, merchant payouts, bank ACH transfers, wires from external accounts and IRS tax refunds. A freelancer paid through PayPal or Stripe earns nothing from this offer, however large the monthly total. SoFi also says it may ask for documents to verify deposits, and it decides eligibility at its own discretion.
Two more rules matter. SoFi pays only one bonus amount, and you need an open SoFi Checking account in good standing when the money is paid. This suits a salaried worker whose pay already lands by direct deposit and who can reach the top tier within 25 days. Someone who reaches only the middle tier earns $50, which rarely justifies opening an account on its own.
TD pays on smaller deposits, and the monthly fee sets the real cost
TD Beyond Checking pays $300 after $2,500 in qualifying direct deposits within 60 days. TD Complete Checking pays $200 after $500 in the same window. Each direct deposit must be at least $250 and must come from payroll, a pension or a government benefit payment. TD excludes person-to-person payments and transfers from other accounts. Two $1,250 paychecks clear Beyond's threshold, and one $500 payroll deposit clears Complete's, provided it meets the $250 minimum.
The fee is where the two accounts diverge. Beyond costs $25 a month and Complete costs $15, and TD's bonus terms list three ways to waive each one. For Beyond, you can have $5,000 or more in direct deposits in a statement cycle, keep a $2,500 minimum daily balance, or hold a $25,000 minimum daily combined balance across deposit accounts and certain home loans. For Complete, you can have $500 or more in direct deposits, keep a $500 minimum daily balance, or hold a $5,000 minimum daily combined balance across linked deposit accounts.
If you waive the fee, the bonus is a clean gain. If you pay it, Beyond's fee runs $300 a year, which matches its bonus exactly, while Complete's $15 fee runs $180, so one full year of the fee leaves a Complete buyer $20 ahead. Keep paying the fee for a few months past the first year, and both fees outrun their bonuses.
TD's terms also shut out some buyers. Existing TD personal checking customers do not qualify. Neither does anyone who closed a TD personal checking account in the previous 12 months, or anyone who has ever received a TD checking bonus. TD Canadian cross-border customers are excluded too. TD pays the bonus on or before 180 days from account opening, and the account must not be closed or restricted at payout. TD says the offer may be withdrawn at any time, and it may issue an IRS Form 1099 or another form reporting the bonus's value.
TD Signature Savings is a balance test, not a checking bonus
TD pays its savings bonus for depositing at least $10,000 within the first 20 days of opening a TD Signature Savings account, then holding that balance for 90 more days after day 20. TD presents the offer as an add-on: its page says you could earn the extra bonus by bundling a checking account with Signature Savings.
The bonus equals 2 percent of the balance you park, for about 110 days. Whether that beats your current savings rate depends on the yield you give up, and this page does not compare yields. Check the Signature Savings rate against your own account before you move the money, and confirm this money is not cash you need within those 110 days.
Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Capital One show no bonus we could confirm
Chase's checking page shows a $175 bonus for Chase Secure Banking, but it says only "with qualifying transactions" and never defines them. The page gives no window and no end date, so we left the offer out. Chase Total Checking links an offer for new checking customers without printing an amount, and our Chase Total Checking profile covers the account's fees and features. Chase's savings page shows no bonus.
Bank of America's Advantage Banking page lists no new-customer bonus. Its rewards features, such as Keep the Change and Cash Back Deals, are everyday features, not sign-up offers. Our Bank of America Advantage Plus profile covers that account's fees and features. Wells Fargo's checking page mentions bonus offers only in the description of Prime Checking, with no amount and no terms.
Capital One's 360 Checking page shows no sign-up bonus. Its one promotion is an 11-month CD rate, which is a different product. Chime's page highlights MyPay early pay and Chime Prime perks, neither of which is a cash bonus. American Express's savings page shows no sign-up bonus either.
How to read any bonus before you open the account
Five terms decide whether the money arrives. Read them in the terms, not in the headline.
- The deposit type. Payroll, pension and government benefit deposits count at both SoFi and TD. Transfers and person-to-person payments do not.
- The clock. SoFi counts 25 days from your first deposit. TD counts 60 days for qualifying deposits.
- The payout date. SoFi pays within 7 business days after the requirements. TD can take up to 180 days.
- The disqualifiers. TD excludes current and recently closed TD personal checking customers, plus anyone with a past TD checking bonus. SoFi pays only one bonus amount.
- The end date. SoFi's promotion ends December 31, 2026. TD's offers end November 30, 2026, and TD can withdraw them at any time.
Who should act now, and who should pass
A salaried worker who routes enough pay into SoFi within 25 days to reach the top tier earns the most of the four offers, and SoFi's promotion also has the longest runway.
Someone with $2,500 in payroll over two months should run Beyond's numbers: the bonus against its monthly fee if the fee is not waived. Someone whose payroll reaches Complete's threshold within 60 days qualifies for its bonus, and then the $15 monthly fee decides whether the account pays.
Pass if you already bank with TD, or if you closed a TD checking account in the last 12 months. Pass on SoFi if your income arrives by check, PayPal, Venmo or Stripe, since those deposits do not count. Pass on TD's savings offer if parking the balance for about 110 days would strain your cash.
Methodology: how we checked each offer
We read each provider's checking and savings pages on October 10, 2026, using the bank's own copy and the terms it linked from those pages. An offer made the table only when the page gave the amount, the deposit or balance rule, and a window or an end date. Chase's $175 offer failed that test, because its qualifying transactions are undefined and no end date appears.
We read 12 products across 8 providers. This is a hand-checked sample, not a database pull, and it covers only what each page showed on the day we looked. Banks change offers often, so the end dates above are the banks' own dates and may move. For fees and account features, see our checking accounts ranking. For cash yields, see our savings accounts ranking, the high-yield savings guide and the APY promotions page. FAQ
Is there a checking account bonus in 2026?
Yes, from SoFi and TD. SoFi's direct deposit bonus is tiered and runs through December 31, 2026. TD's checking and Signature Savings bonuses have offers ending November 30, 2026, and each one needs a set amount of qualifying direct deposits or a balance held for a set period.
How much does SoFi pay for direct deposits?
SoFi pays $50 for $1,000 to $4,999.99 in eligible direct deposits and $400 for $5,000 or more, counted over 25 calendar days after your first eligible deposit. Anything below the first tier pays nothing.
Do transfers from another bank count toward a bonus?
No, not at SoFi or TD. SoFi excludes bank ACH transfers, Zelle, PayPal, Venmo and external wires. TD excludes person-to-person payments and transfers from other accounts. Only recurring payroll, pension or government benefit deposits count at both.
Can I get TD's bonus if I already bank with TD?
No. TD's terms exclude existing TD personal checking customers, anyone who closed a TD personal checking account within the preceding 12 months, and anyone who has ever received a TD checking bonus.
Is the Chase $175 bonus worth it?
It is not on our list. Chase's page says the bonus requires "qualifying transactions" without defining them, and it shows no window or end date. Until those terms appear on the page, we cannot confirm the offer.
Will TD send a tax form for its bonus?
TD says it may issue an IRS Form 1099 or another appropriate form reporting the bonus's value, so watch for one if you receive the bonus. Check with a tax adviser about your own return.
What does TD Beyond cost if I do not waive the fee?
Beyond's $25 monthly fee adds up over a year to the same amount as its bonus. TD waives the fee with a direct deposit total, a minimum daily balance or a combined relationship balance, with the thresholds set out in the Beyond section above.
