  • Contract terms and any termination fees vary by seller (Clover Direct, a bank such as Citi, PNC or Wells Fargo, or another partner) and Clover does not publish them. Prices on Clover.com are only available there.
  • The hardware promotion on Clover's retail pricing page, a $450 statement credit when you buy a Station, Mini or Flex, requires a 3-year contract according to its footnote, and it expires December 31, 2026.

Clover is a payments and point-of-sale system owned by Fiserv, and its card processing is sold together with Clover's own devices and software. The pages we read do not offer processing on its own, and Clover says its devices cannot be used with other payment processors. The cheapest way in is the Starter plan, which is $0 a month: you pay 2.6% + 10¢ when a card is tapped, dipped or swiped and 3.5% + 10¢ when you type the card number in. The Go card reader that goes with it is $199, and the Compact countertop terminal is $349. Paid plans lower the in-person rate: 2.5% + 10¢ on Essentials ($29.95 a month) and 2.3% + 10¢ on the Growth plans, which start at $84.95 a month for retail and services and $89.95 for restaurants. Clover also sells whole systems as a 36-month subscription, from $16 a month for the Compact to $354 a month for the largest full-service restaurant system. Deposits are typically funded within 1 to 3 business days, and Rapid Deposit moves money within minutes for a 1.75% fee. One thing to know: Clover says its subscriptions are non-cancelable and ineligible for refunds, and that contract terms and termination fees depend on who sells you Clover, whether Clover itself, a bank or another partner. Ask for the full terms in writing before you sign, and compare the monthly subscription with buying the hardware outright.
