On $22,500 of annual spending at Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card's base rate of 1%, which earns $225 a year. This is a floor: it counts only the rate that applies to every purchase, so bonus categories can push it higher, never lower. Points and miles are valued at 1 cent each, what they are worth as cash back. Transferring to airline or hotel partners can be worth more, but only when award seats exist, so we leave that out of the guaranteed figure.

What is Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card?

Sources read on the date shown
The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card, previously called the Aeroplan Credit Card, is Chase's card for Air Canada's Aeroplan program. The annual fee is $195, and Chase's page states no first-year waiver. As of October 14, 2026 the welcome offer is 75,000 bonus points after $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months, plus another 40,000 points after $20,000 in purchases in the first 12 months, for up to 115,000 total. The offer is not available to people who hold the card or received a bonus on it in the past 24 months. Everyday earning is 3x on purchases made directly with Air Canada (up to 5x total with Aeroplan 25K status) and on travel purchases, 2x at gas stations, and 3x on groceries and dining through December 31, 2026, dropping to 2x from January 1, 2027. Through December 31, 2026 you also get 500 bonus points for every $2,000 you spend in a calendar month, up to 1,500 points monthly. Everything else earns 1x, so this is a card for its bonus categories, not a catch-all. The perks are concentrated on Air Canada flying. Cardholders get the first checked bag free on Air Canada flights for themselves and up to eight people traveling on the same reservation. Cardmembers enjoy Aeroplan 25K status with no spend requirement, according to Chase's page. There is also a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS credit of up to $120 every four years, up to $100 a year in Air Canada statement credits ($50 twice annually), no foreign transaction fees, and the card is a World Elite Mastercard with trip cancellation and rental car coverage. The purchase APR is 19.99 to 28.49 percent variable. The strategic angle for US flyers: Aeroplan points can book award flights on Air Canada and on partner airlines such as United and Lufthansa, and Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred to Aeroplan, so this card can be the status-and-bags companion to a Chase card that earns Ultimate Rewards. Get it if you fly Air Canada a few times a year, especially with family (the bag benefit scales), or if you are a points optimizer who values Aeroplan's award chart. Skip it if you never fly Air Canada and will not use partner awards: the 25K status and bag perks would go unused, and the 1x base earn applies to everything outside the bonus categories.
