The Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi is the warehouse club's house credit card, and its value concentrates at the pump. It earns 5% cash back on gas at Costco and 4% on other eligible gas and EV charging purchases, on the first $7,000 per year of combined gas and EV spend, then 1% after that. Restaurants and eligible travel, including Costco Travel, earn 3%, purchases at Costco and Costco.com earn 2%, and everything else earns 1%. There is no card annual fee, but the card requires an active paid Costco membership, which runs $65 per year for Gold Star or $130 for Executive, so the membership is the real cost of entry. Citi's card page lists no welcome bonus, although Costco's join page advertises a $65 Digital Costco Shop Card for new Executive members who are approved for the card (terms apply). The purchase APR is 18.99% to 26.99% variable as of October 14, 2026, with no intro APR offer. The biggest structural quirk is redemption. Cash back accumulates all year and arrives as a single annual reward certificate after your February billing statement closes, redeemable for cash or merchandise at a US Costco warehouse. You cannot cash out monthly the way many cash back cards allow, and closing your membership or the card at the wrong time risks forfeiting an entire year of accrued rewards. As a travel card it has no foreign transaction fees on a Visa accepted worldwide, plus 3% on restaurants and eligible travel purchases. Approval generally favors applicants with good to excellent credit. Get this card if you are a committed Costco household that fuels up regularly: the 4% to 5% gas and EV rate on up to $7,000 of annual spend is the draw. Skip it if you are not keeping a Costco membership, if you want monthly redemptions, or if you carry a balance, since up to 26.99% APR swamps any cash back.
