Best Cash Advance Apps in 2026: Fees, Limits and Speed

Earnin publishes up to $1,000 a pay period with no mandatory fee on standard delivery, as of September 23, 2026. Albert matches that ceiling into Albert Cash. Dave charges 5% or $5.

Earnin publishes the highest ceiling with no mandatory fee on standard delivery. As of September 23, 2026, that is up to $150 a day and $1,000 a pay period, and standard speed is free. Albert lists the same $1,000 ceiling with no charge into Albert Cash. Dave stops at $500 and charges the greater of 5% or $5.

A cash advance app sends a short amount of pay, or covers a card purchase, before the paycheck lands, so it is not a budget or a savings account. Financeradar data: the 35 high-yield savings accounts we verify average 3.54% APY as of September 23, 2026, and 34 of them publish a rate, from 1.84% to 4.50% (high-yield savings statistics). At that average, $100 earns $3.54 in a year if the rate holds, which is less than Dave's $5 floor on an ExtraCash transfer of that size.

Prices below were read on each company's own site, terms, help center, or US app listing on September 23, 2026. A limit on the marketing page is the published maximum, not the amount a new account receives, so the first offer can be smaller.

The screens that track the rest of the month, Monarch, Copilot Money, Empower, and Kubera, are compared in Empower vs Monarch vs Copilot vs Kubera. None of those four sends a cash advance, so this page prices the fee and the ceiling.

1. Earnin, the largest published ceiling with no required fee

Standard Cash Out has no mandatory fee, and the pay-period maximum on the product page is the number in the opening. The cash advance page says new users typically begin at $20 to $100 a day, then the amount can grow toward the daily maximum in the opening, subject to available earnings. New York's daily maximum sits below the national daily cap, and Earnin's Max article says the pay-period figure is personalized, so the marketing ceiling is not the first transfer.

Lightning Speed starts at $3.99 and arrives in minutes. Standard delivery is free and takes 1 to 3 business days on the product page, or 1 to 2 on the transfer article. The state fee article caps Indiana and Florida at the percentage in Dave's row, using that starting price as a minimum. It prices New York Cash Out at $3.99 on smaller transfers and $5.99 on the band above that.

Colorado and Wisconsin dropped tips in July 2025 and charge $4.99 on a fast transfer of $10 to $75, and tips elsewhere do not raise the ceiling. Earnin fits someone who can wait for free standard delivery. It is a weak pick when the money has to move today on the higher state schedule, because the free path is the slow one.

2. Albert Instant, the same ceiling, due in six days

The advance does not require a subscription, and repayment is due in 6 days. Albert's terms set the top of the range at the ceiling in the opening, say few customers qualify for it, and say there is no credit check, no late fee, and no interest. The floor is the $25 in the table, and sending the advance into Albert Cash is instant and free. An external transfer, when offered, carries a fee the terms do not state, shown in the app before you confirm and collected when you repay.

An extension can run up to 7 days, and a repayment within 15 days after the due date can lift a suspension once it completes. Later than that, access can stay blocked for 30 days or more. The same terms price Standard at $19.99 a month and Genius at $39.99 a month, and Instant Advance does not require either plan. Albert fits someone who can repay inside a week from Albert Cash. It is a poor fit when the cash has to reach an outside bank before you have seen the transfer fee.

3. Klover, a high ceiling whose express fee is the expensive part

The basic advance has no fee, and the pricing page's maximum is $750. Klover's pricing page, last updated February 24, 2026, says an eligible user may request up to that amount. Terms say a basic Balance Advance is not subject to Klover+, the $4.99 monthly price in the table. Express delivery is optional, and on that maximum the express fee is up to $37.49, which is 5.0% when you divide the two published numbers. Points offset an express fee at 500 points per $1.00.

If Klover cannot collect, the terms say it will not send the balance to collections, sell it, or report it, and it may limit the service until repayment. The terms do not state how many days the free path takes. Klover fits someone who can wait for the basic advance. It is the wrong app when the only acceptable delivery is express, because that top fee is the cost of refusing to wait.

4. MoneyLion Instacash, free on the slow path, capped per transfer

Regular delivery is free, and each disbursement stops at $100, so the higher ceiling arrives in pieces. Instacash advertises advances up to Dave's maximum, and a qualifying direct deposit into Spend can raise that limit to $1,000. The pricing page lists no monthly administrative fee and an APR of 0%. Delivery into Spend takes 1 to 2 business days at no fee, and an external account takes 2 to 5 business days at no fee.

A Spend turbo on the smallest band is $0.49, and the external turbo on the highest band is $8.99, and tips are optional without changing eligibility. The linked checking account should be at least two months old, show income, and hold a positive balance. Credit Builder Plus, at $19.99 a month, is a separate loan membership and is not required. MoneyLion fits someone who can wait and split the amount. It is a weak pick when the whole sum has to arrive in one instant transfer.

5. Dave ExtraCash, the fee is on the advance itself

Every electronic overdraft costs 5%, and the fee cannot fall under the floor in the table. The fee schedule, last updated April 22, 2025, lists that fee, a free express transfer into Dave Checking, a 1.5% fee on a push to an external debit card, and a free ACH to an outside bank. An inactivity fee equal to that floor applies after 12 months with no deposit or withdrawal. The disclosures, last updated April 2, 2026, put ExtraCash at $25 to $500, say few members qualify for the maximum, and cap the membership at the table price.

Dave Checking can be ready in seconds, an external debit card within 1 hour, and an external bank within 3 business days, with the quote valid for 24 hours. There is no interest and no late fee, so the percentage on the advance is the charge. On a transfer the size of the savings example, that percentage lands on the floor, already more than a year of interest at the 3.54% average. Dave fits someone who wants the checking account, because the fast path into it has no express fee. It is the expensive standard transfer next to Earnin or MoneyLion, which do not add a percentage to the advance itself.

6. Brigit, no tip, and the subscription is a range

Standard delivery is free, and Premium is the plan that drops the express fee. The Instant Cash page offers the same band Dave publishes, with no interest, no late fee, and no credit check. A request before 10:00 in the morning Eastern Time on a business day can arrive the same day. Otherwise standard delivery is 1 to 3 business days, and express delivery is within 20 minutes. Terms set Plus and Premium at the table prices. The express fee runs from $0.99 to $5.99 unless you are on Premium, and you pay it when you repay.

Maine is capped at $250, below the band Dave publishes. You can email and ask for an advance with no subscription. The checking account needs 60 days of history, a balance above zero, and three recurring deposits from the same source. Extending the repayment date is free, and a month of Premium is the $15.99 in the table whether or not you use express. Brigit fits someone who will not tip and wants that waiver. It is a poor fit for one advance you could take on a free standard path elsewhere, because the subscription still bills.

7. Cleo, the ceiling depends on the plan and the direct deposit

Plus caps the advance lower than Builder, and Builder wants a direct deposit. The pricing page lists Plus at Brigit's monthly low end and Pro at $8.99 a month, and Builder is the $14.99 on that grid. Plus advances run from $20 to $250, the first one stops lower than later requests, and a day is capped at $170. Builder runs from $150 to Dave's maximum for existing users, and from $150 to $180 the first time, if a direct deposit of at least $750 a month is in place for the top.

Same-day transfers cost $4.49 to $14.99, and you may request an advance without subscribing. Pro and Builder include savings at 2.75% APY, effective April 6, 2026, which sits under the average we verify. Cleo is not the yield leader on the savings ranking, and the savings guide is the list behind that average. Cleo fits a smaller advance next to a budget chat. It is the wrong plan when you want the largest advance at the lowest fee, because the higher ceiling sits on Builder and that deposit test.

8. Chime SpotMe, fee-free, and it does not send you the cash

SpotMe covers a card purchase, and the limit starts at the figure in the table. Chime's help article says the base can rise to $200. Eligibility needs a physical debit card or a secured Chime credit card, plus a qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more in the past 34 days. The disclosure also requires that deposit size each month. There is no overdraft fee, and the next deposit repays the negative balance. ACH, Pay Anyone, and payments that use the routing number are not covered.

A purchase above the limit is declined, with no fee for the decline. An out-of-network ATM withdrawal at the starting limit also has to clear a $2.50 Chime fee, plus the ATM owner's fee, or it is declined. Boosts from other members are temporary $5 increases, and they expire at the end of the month they arrive. Chime Checking is the account SpotMe uses, and it fits a member who needs a debit purchase to clear without depositing an advance into an outside bank.

9. FloatMe, a small average and a monthly membership

The published average Float is $53, and the ceiling matches SpotMe. The homepage prices membership at the monthly figure in the table and caps a Float at $200, with no interest and no credit check. The US Play listing, updated September 23, 2026, says first approvals are typically $10 to $50, repeats that July 1, 2026 average, and says standard delivery is free within three business days. The Instant fee is the range in the table. One example is a $50 Float by ACH repaid at the same amount, or repaid at $55 if you add Instant.

Floats are unavailable in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, and Nevada. The listing points to a no-cost option in the terms if you do not want the membership. An average of $53 does not compete with Earnin's pay-period ceiling, and the membership still bills when you use the free ACH path. FloatMe fits a small gap you can repay on the free path. It is a bad answer when the question is the most money at the lowest fee.

What the fee is worth next to a savings rate

A short advance fee annualizes into a high APR even when the app prints no interest. MoneyLion and FloatMe both print 0% APR, which means no interest, and a speed fee is still money you repay. The CFPB, in a July 18, 2024 release, said a typical employer-partnered advance in its 2021 to 2022 study carried an APR of 109.5%, on an average transaction of $106, with workers taking 27 a year and expedited fees averaging $3.18. That study covers employer-partnered products, not these nine apps.

Dave's percentage, spread over 14 days, is that rate times 365 divided by 14, or 130.4%, and over 30 days the same percentage is 60.8%. Dave does not publish either figure, and the day count is an illustration because you choose the settlement date. Albert's free path into Albert Cash has nothing to annualize. Lightning Speed's starting price, on a transfer the size of the savings example, is 3.99% up front and 104.0% over that 14-day illustration. The $3.54 of annual interest on that example is less than one charge at Dave's floor, if the 3.54% rate holds.

The rate tracker shows those savings rates moving, and 31 of 34 accounts behind the average charge no monthly fee (91%). A card purchase APR is separate: the median range on September 17, 2026 was 19.24% to 28.49% (credit card APR statistics), which is not a cash-advance APR.

How we ranked

Nine products were read on their own sites on September 23, 2026, including each pricing page, terms, or help article named above, plus the CFPB release from July 18, 2024. The savings average is the live figure on our statistics page. Rank follows the published maximum you can receive without a required percentage, subscription, or express fee. No paid placement moved a row, and nobody here opened an account or linked a bank.

Louis Corneloup, founder of Financeradar and Dupple, reviewed these fees editorially. The page is general information about published terms, not a paycheck plan. A commission on a cash-advance link never moves an app's place (how we make money).

FAQ

What is the best cash advance app in 2026?

Earnin, when the test is the largest published ceiling with no mandatory fee on standard delivery. As of September 23, 2026, the product page lists up to $150 a day and $1,000 a pay period, with standard delivery free. New users typically start lower, and New York's daily maximum is $100, so do not expect the opening figures on a new or New York account.

Albert matches the pay-period ceiling, charges nothing into Albert Cash, and makes the advance due in 6 days. Dave stops at the maximum in the opening and adds the percentage in the opening or the table floor, whichever is greater.

How much does a cash advance app charge?

Earnin, MoneyLion, Klover's basic advance, Brigit's standard delivery, and FloatMe's standard delivery can be free if the bill can wait. Dave charges the percentage in the table on every electronic overdraft, with the floor and membership in the table. Brigit Plus runs up to $9.99 a month, and Premium removes the express fee. MoneyLion's highest external turbo is $8.99, and Klover's express fee on its maximum is up to $37.49. Those speed fees are optional and shown before you confirm.

Is there a free cash advance app?

Yes, if you can wait, because the free delivery takes business days rather than minutes. Earnin's standard Cash Out has no mandatory fee, MoneyLion's regular delivery is free, and Klover's basic advance does not require the subscription. Chime SpotMe has no overdraft fee and covers card purchases up to the maximum in its row, without depositing cash. FloatMe's standard delivery is free, and its listing describes a no-cost request that skips the membership. A free path still has a repayment date, so the advance is not income.

Is Earnin cheaper than Dave?

On a standard transfer, yes, because Earnin does not add a percentage to Cash Out and Dave does. Dave adds the percentage in the table, with the floor and the membership, and only the path into Dave Checking skips an express fee. Earnin's fast path is Lightning Speed, and New York splits that fee at $3.99 and $5.99. Albert also publishes the opening ceiling without a subscription, lands the free instant transfer in Albert Cash, and makes it due in 6 days.

What APR is a cash advance fee equal to?

Apps that print 0% APR, including MoneyLion and FloatMe, are saying they do not charge interest. A speed fee still has an annualized cost over the days you hold the cash. Dave's 5%, repaid in 14 days, is that rate times 365 divided by 14, or 130.4%. The same fee repaid in 30 days is 60.8%. Dave does not publish those APRs, and the day count is an illustration, because you agree to a settlement date in the app.

The CFPB's July 18, 2024 study put a typical employer-partnered advance at 109.5% APR, on 2021 to 2022 data, with an average advance of $106. That figure is not the APR of the apps on this page. A free standard transfer has no fee to annualize.

Does Chime SpotMe send cash to my bank?

No, it covers a card purchase, an ATM withdrawal, or certain cash-back transactions, up to the limit in the table, and it skips ACH. You need the qualifying direct deposit described in the Chime section, inside 34 days and also each month under the disclosure. There is no overdraft fee, and the next deposit repays what SpotMe covered. The account is Chime Checking, and other accounts are on the checking ranking.

Can I get a cash advance without a subscription?

Several of these apps say you can, if you want one transfer and not a monthly bill. Albert's terms say a monthly fee is not required for Instant Advance. Klover's basic advance is not subject to the subscription. Brigit's terms tell you to email and ask for an advance without one. Cleo's pricing footnote says you may request an advance without subscribing. FloatMe's Play listing points to a no-cost option in its terms. Earnin and MoneyLion do not sell the advance as a monthly plan.

Dave ties ExtraCash to the membership in the table, so a single advance still includes that membership. Chime SpotMe has no subscription, and it also has no deposit of cash.

How fast can the money arrive?

Minutes if you pay for speed, and business days if you refuse the fee. Earnin's Lightning Speed, Dave's external debit card within 1 hour at 1.5%, Dave Checking in seconds with no express fee, Brigit's 20-minute express, and MoneyLion's turbo are the fast options. Each of those except Dave Checking adds a charge. The free paths take longer: 1 to 3 business days at Earnin, 2 to 5 days to an outside bank at MoneyLion, and three business days or less at FloatMe. Cash you do not need to advance can sit in a high-yield savings account at the rates on the statistics page.
