What is Citi Accelerate Savings?

Sources read on the date shown
Citi Accelerate Savings is Citi's online savings account, offered in select markets rather than nationwide. If your home address is in California, Connecticut, Washington DC, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York or Virginia, Citi's eligibility list does not include you, and in Florida and Illinois only select markets are covered. Citi lists the eligible states and territories on its page. Citi does not print the rate on the page until you enter a ZIP code. It says the APY depends on Rate Region (your home address), Relationship Tier and any promotion, and that the rate is variable. Citi's page says the APY it shows is accurate as of the date printed on the page for the location entered (10/14/2026 when we read it), but we did not read the figure for an eligible ZIP code, so no APY is shown here. Check the live rate on citi.com before you open the account. Fees are manageable but not zero. Citi lists a $4.50 monthly service fee on Citi Savings and Citi Accelerate Savings accounts, waived in any month with an average monthly balance of $500 or more, or if an owner also has a Regular or Access Checking account. A $2.50 Non-Citi ATM fee applies at ATMs outside Citi's surcharge-free network, and it is waived in the Citi Priority, Citigold and Citigold Private Client tiers. There is no minimum opening deposit, but accounts at a zero balance for 90 calendar days are subject to closure. The account suits people in eligible states who want savings at Citi next to a Citi checking account or cards, since owning a Regular or Access Checking account waives the monthly fee. Skip it if your home address is outside Citi's eligibility list, or if you would hold under $500 without a Citi checking account, because the $4.50 monthly fee would apply. Check the rate shown for your ZIP code against your other options before you open it.
